Motivated by love, delivered in humility, and finally;
REINFORCED BY RIGHT-LIVING. It is a sad fact, but true, that you could give a
convincing, logical
defense of your Christian faith, out of genuine concern for others, with an attitude of meekness, and still be completely disregarded and ignored. How? Why??? If we are living lives that are not measuring up to God’s Word, doing things that Christians should not be doing, going places that followers of Christ shouldn’t visit, then our
testimony will often be rejected.If we do not “practice what we preach,” the world will know it. If you want to be an effective defender of the faith, make sure your life is pleasing to God. Notice that we did not say “perfect.” That will not happen until we are with the Lord in Heaven. But for now, listen again to Paul’s command to Timothy: “having a good conscience…(that) those who speak evil of your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.” Make sure that your life and your lips match. Walk the walk, then you can talk the talk!
