It’s a terrible feeling to be in a situation when someone asks a question about our faith or they make a challenge against the Bible in front of a group of people, and we can’t think of a response. The Lord has the answers, and it is up to us to be prepared, to
BE READY, because we never know what the challenge will be or when it will come…but if you intend to do something for God, it
WILL COME.There was another young person, perhaps about your age, in the Bible, named Timothy. The apostle Paul was teaching him how to make a stand for the Lord. Paul said “…STUDY to show yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (II Tim. 3:15) Paul says that the key to NOT BEING ASHAMED (as you would be if you could not defend your faith ) then you must STUDY THE WORD OF TRUTH (the Bible).
Being able to make a strong case for the Lord does not come easily or naturally…it does require effort on our part. But, the Lord will help us. Later on in the same letter to Timothy, Paul talked about a time when he made a stand for the Lord and everyone left him…he stood alone. “At my first DEFENSE, no one stood with me, but all left me…BUT THE LORD STOOD WITH ME, and strengthened me, so that the message might be proclaimed fully through me…” (II Timothy 2:16,17).
